Lerche, Nancy L. (Marriage - 20 October 1973)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, was the setting Saturday, October 20, at 2 p.m. for the marriage of Miss Nancy L. Lerche and Arden Geisler. The Rev. Leander Koopman officiated for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Lerche of Potter and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Geisler of Greenwood.

Presented in marriage by her parents, the former Miss Lerche appeared in a gown of white bridal satin embellished with appliqués of French Lace. Her bouffant, shoulder-length veil was caught by a lace petal headpiece. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses, baby’s breath and ivy.

Susan Lerche, Potter, served as her sister’s maid of honor. Friends of the ride, Diane Dieringer and Jan Gerry, both of Marshfield, were her bridesmaids. The orange chiffon skirts of their empire-style gowns were topped by orange floral bodices accented with brown velvet ribbon waistline trim. Their nosegays of bronze and orange daisy mums were blended with dried flowers.

James Learman, Greenwood, served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Tomkowiak, Marshfield, and Terry Biddle, Thorp, all are friends of the groom. Ushering duties were shared by Bill Lerche of Potter, brother of the bride, and James Ziegler of Marshfield, friend of the groom.

The Zepaltas sisters sang ‘The Wedding Song’ and ‘Ava Maria’.

The Greenwood American legion Hall was chosen for a reception and a dance and a supper was served in the church parlors.

The new Mrs. Geisler, a 1970 graduate of Hilbert High School and a 1971 graduate of Fox Valley Technical Institute, is employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Her husband graduated from Greenwood High School in 1967 and is an employee of the Clark County Sheriff’s Dept.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will live in Greenwood.
