Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beran and family visited at the Charles Poch home in Wausau
Sunday.
A group of ladies spent the afternoon of April 8 with Mrs. John Zell, helping
her celebrate her birthday anniversary.
Frank Heddler and Lavern Zell of Thorp were callers in this community last week.
Esther Zell spent the weekend at her home.
The misses Esther Doering, Alice Lehman and Helen Lehman called at the Dixon
school on Friday.
The seventh grade Agriculture class is making experiments with soil and seed
germination.
Rose Schemenauer, Hattie Hoffman, Zdena and Martha Beran each received a
Progress Pin for penmanship.
Mildred Hoppe, Rosalind Schreiber, Jeanette Venzke and Bernice Schaefer are
attending school now.
The first grade reading class is now reading from a second grade book.
The seventh and eighth grade arithmetic pupils are working problems such as
finding volume of gas tanks, cisterns, etc.
The Milan School Society has their meeting Friday afternoon. The regular
business was carried on.
The fifth and sixth grade classes are studying about Sir Walter Raleigh and
Queen Elizabeth.
