Hart, Gregory L. (28 OCT 1916 - 16 APR 2015)
Gregory L. Hart, 83, Athens, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Ministry St.
Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born June 7, 1931 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late John and
Louise (Mroczenski) Hart. On August 2, 1969, he married Patricia Buckett in
Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2009. Greg was a fourth
generation farmer and farmed in the town of Rietbrock until 1988. He then went
on to work for Marathon Cheese Corp. for eight years until his retirement.
One of his favorite pastimes was spending time outdoors cutting wood. He also
enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, caring for his pets and especially loved
spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include, one daughter, Laura (Kent) Kottke, Athens; one son, David
Hart, Greenville, Tex.; two grandchildren, Amber and Trevor Kottke, Athens; four
siblings; Anne Kwiecinski, Skokie, Ill, Sophie (Floyd) Braun, Athens, Rose Mary
(Jerry) Edwards, Green Valley, Ariz. and Raymond (Kathie) Hart, Ames, Iowa; two
sisters-in-law, Leona Hart, Wittenberg and Mildred Hart, Marathon; and many
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by his
siblings, John (Adeline) Hart, Sister M. Bertilia, Agnes Hoth, Frances (Adrian)
Albrecht, Edmund Hart and Joseph Hart; and brothers-in-law, Matthew Kwiecinski
and George Hoth.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015 at
Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00
until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Monday
from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary
service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online condolences may
