Kleparski, Sophia (Baldys) (22 JUN 1920 - 11 APR 2015)
Sophia Kleparski, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Golden Living Center
Continental Manor in Abbotsford on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Christ The
King Catholic Church in Spencer, WI. Fr. Samuel Martin will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on
Wednesday. The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer is assisting the funeral
home with arrangements.
She was born June 22, 1920, daughter of the late Phillip and Genevieve (Zwaynar)
Baldys. Sophia grew up near Medford with her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She
graduated from Medford High School and then married Ted Kleparski on July 18,
1942.
They had 3 children, Jim, Nick and Sandy. Sophia has 6 grandchildren and 8 great
grandchildren. Sophia, with Ted, managed the Pebble Valley Mobile Home Court in
Rib Lake. She also worked at the Rib Lake Shoe Factory for many years. In her
spare time her passion was being an artist. Sophia painted in Oils, Acrylics,
Ceramics and Rosemahling. She was also a wonderful cook.
Before moving to Continental Manor/Golden Living Center, where she resided for
the past 9 years, Sophia lived at Ponderosa apartments for 18 years. During
those years, she was an active member of Christ the King Parish. Sophia
refurbished the Parish Statues and Crucifix, donated the Christmas Crib Set and
painted the Divine Mercy picture for the parish.
Survivors include her three children; Jim (Lucille) Kleparski, Marathon, Nick
(Eunice) Kleparski, Colby and Sandra (Rich) Kralcik, Milan, six grandchildren;
Ted (Angie) Kralcik, Milan, Michael Kleparski, Unity, Todd Kleparski, London,
England, Michell (Dan) McGhee, Wausau, Nicole (Robby) Schwanz, Grafton and Jodie
(Travis) Wichlacz, Milan and eight great grandchildren and one sister, Jenny
Iburg, San Jose, CA.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Walter, Stanley and Al Baldys and
Two sisters, Eleanore Knuth and Sister Marcia Baldys.
