Ingles, Lillian Marie (Rueden) (7 JAN 1945 - 8 MAY 2015)
Lillian Marie (Rueden) Ingles, 70 of Eau Claire, beloved wife and mother, passed
away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home.
Lillian was born on January 7, 1945 to Tony and Lorraine (Klessig) Rueden in
Unity, WI.
She graduated from Auburndale High in 1963, earning the Daughters of the
American Revolution Scholarship award. She went on to attend UW-Eau Claire for a
year before being swept off her feet by the charming Air Force Airman, Richard
Ingles.
Little did she know, the lifetime of adventure that would ensue. Three years
later, after a few dates and a lot of letter writing, they were married on
October 1, 1966. Thus began the life of an Air Force wife.
During those 20 years they lived in such exotic places as Del Rio, TX, Seattle,
WA, Glen Allen, CA, Wichita Falls, TX, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Glendale, AZ, St.
Louis, MO, and Khamis Mushayt, Saudi Arabia, before settling back in Eau Claire.
During her many wanderings, she also visited such places as Egypt, England,
Thailand, Hong Kong, and just about every country in Western Europe. As if the
traveling wasn't exciting enough, she had her two daughters Claire and Corina to
watch over. Which she did, with the dedication and occasional ferociousness of a
mother bear while still managing to teach them about the wonders of the world,
right from wrong, and making sure they got their homework done.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard; daughter Claire;
grandson, Gregory Stechman; mother, Lorraine; two brothers, Leroy Rueden and
Daniel Rueden; and three sisters, Charlotte Weister, Mildred Tischman, and Lorea
Manthe.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Corina McGeachy; one brother, August;
one sister, Mary Spatz; and father, Antone.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral
Chapel with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at
Lutheran Cemetery.
Smith Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Family and friends may leave
