Schwichtenberg, Fred (20 JAN 1898 – 1 AUG 1918)

On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. John Schwichtenberg received a telegram from the War Department announcing that their son, Fred, had been killed in action in France. Fred was an old Co. A boy who was with the Neillsville boys on the Mexican border, at Two Harbors, Minn., and at Camp MacArthur. He went across as a member of the 128th infty., and gave his life for his country on Aug. 1st. He was born in the town of Levis on Jan. 20, 1898. He moved to this city on Aug. 1st. He was born in the town of Levis on Jan. 20, 1898. He moved to this city with his parents several years ago and was an industrious and upright man. He had no bad habits and in all his dealings he was faithful and conscientious and was a general favorite with a large circle of friends.

Fred is survived by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. The three brothers, two of whom are half brothers, are also in France, fighting at the front.
