Kubat, Mary (1 JAN 1880 – 22 Sep 1918)
Mrs. John Kubat passed away on Sunday afternoon at her home on the north side,
death being the result of an illness with typhoid-pneumonia. Mrs. Kubat was born
Mary Klinke in town of York on Jan. 1, 1880. She grew to young womanhood on the
Klinke farm and was united in marriage to John Kubat on Nov. 1, 1898. Mr. and
Mrs. Kubat moved onto the home farm and operated it until a year ago last April
when they moved to this city.
Mrs. Kubat was a woman of many exceptional traits of character, being of
pleasing disposition and happy manner. She was a most faithful wife and mother
and was especially esteemed by all her old friends and neighbors. She is
survived by her husband, one daughter, Irene, her mother and two sisters and two
brothers, they being Mrs. Arthur Barton of North Weston and Miss Helen Klinke of
Greenwood, J.F. Klinke of Denver, Colo. and Edward Klinke who is in the army and
stationed at Camp Upton.
Mrs. Kubat was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and also a member of the
Altar Society. She was buried on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, services being
conducted by Father Weber at St. Mary’s Church and interment being made in the
Catholic cemetery.
