Getts, Clark (Court-martialed – 26 Sep 1918)
Clark Getts, former Whitehall boy, has been sentenced to 25 years in the federal
prison at Leavenworth. Getts was court-martialed for disobedience and spreading
propaganda at Camp Grant.
Getts was one of the brightest young men of Trempealeau County and made a record
at the University of Wisconsin. There, also, he gathered a lot of ideas wholly
out of touch with present ideas of Americanism, and these brought him disgrace
in the army camp. – Galesville Republican
