Army Private Neil G. Krause, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon F. Krause, Rt. 1,
Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), completed advanced infantry training here, plus a
week of guerrilla warfare training March 26. During his additional instruction
he lived under simulated Vietnam conditions for five days, fighting off night
attacks and conducted raids on "enemy" villages. Krause was taught methods of
removing booby traps, to set ambushes, and to avoid enemy ambushes. Other
specialized instruction included small unites tactics, weapons firing, map
reading, land mine warfare and communications. He entered the army last October
and completed basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. He is a 1963 graduate of
Owen-Withee High School and was employed by Foremost Dairies, Inc., in Owen,
before entering the army.
