Lesik, Helen V. (22 DEC 1898 – 25 MAY 1966)
Funeral services for Mrs. Michael Lesik, who passed away at seven o'clock
yesterday morning, May 25, 1966, at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, have
been set for Friday afternoon. They will be held at two o'clock from the United
Church of Christ, Owen, with pastor Rev. Robert Goessling officiating. Burial
will be made at Riverside Cemetery.
Roger Lesneski, Arlyn Mills, W.R. Haire, Archie Nourse, Harry Hilts and Lee
Jensen will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Lesik had been in failing health the past several months, suffering a
stroke, and had been hospitalized at Stanley for two months prior to her passing
away. Born Dec. 22, 1898 at Pittsburgh, Pa., she received her schooling there
and later at Lublin. On Sept. 15, 1916 she and the late Rev. Michael Lesik were
united in marriage in a ceremony performed in Chicago. He preceded her in death,
passing away in 1950. Since that time she had lived in Detroit where she was
employed in a department store until coming here two years ago to make her home
with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Lesneski of rural Withee
(Clark Co., Wis.).
In addition to her sister, Mrs. Lesneski, she is survived by two grandchildren.
One son, Edward, also preceded her in death, passing away in 1944.
