Mrs. Jerry Gust and son, Dudley of Bay City, called Saturday at the home of Mrs.
Kate Dignin.
Mrs. Alan Stanley of Granton and mother Mrs. Earl Pierce of Neillsville, were
here Saturday for the funeral of Mrs. Emma Theiler and also called at the Arnold
Matti home.
Mrs. John Greub accompanied Carl Greub of Neillsville to Eau Claire Sunday; Mrs.
Greub to spend some time with her husband, who is a patient in Sacred Heart
Hospital; and Carl to call on his brother, then to have dinner and spend the day
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herb Green. Mrs. Greub reports her husband is
gaining slowly.
Mr. and Mrs. John Kleckner of Stevens Point called last Saturday at the home of
her mother, Mrs. Freda Zerbel.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Potvin and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Potvin of St. Paul, and Mr.
and Mrs. K. Englebretson of Spencer, last Sunday were dinner and afternoon
guests of Mrs. Mattie Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gausel returned to San Jose, Ca, Monday after spending several
weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Theiler, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe called in La Crosse Friday and on the way home had
supper at the home of his sister, Mrs. Emma Hoog, and Leonard, in rural Melrose.
Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stallard, accompanied by Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice, drove to
Rochester, Mn, on Sunday to see Levi Fitzmaurice. He is critically ill in St.
Mary’s hospital. They found him a little better.
Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Riggs of Zion, Il., were overnight guests Saturday of her
sister, Mrs. Emma Gerber.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Nering and boys of Milwaukee were weekend guests of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Polege.
Mr. and Mrs. Claire Flannigan of Wheeler, visited Sunday at the Archie Kirby
home, and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Seuske and Joe of St. Paul were weekend guests.
They were joined Sunday by Mrs. Margaret Walker of Fairchild for a family
dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zick of Denzer called Friday on Mrs. Frieda Zerbel.
Ralph Flannigan of Burlington and son, Tom, called Friday at the Arnold Matti
home. They were on the way to Rhinelander. They stopped again Sunday with his
son and friend.
Friends here are sorry to hear that Edwin Barkley of Eau Claire (former Humbird
boy) is a patient in Sacred Heart Hospital.
Mrs, Maude Newton came home Thursday night from a week’s visit at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Helene Nelson, in Eau Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Polege attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Judy Buttke,
and Richard Gehl last Saturday and were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Buttke.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Simonson and family were joined Sunday by Mrs. Emma Gerber
and Art Christen for dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Olson in Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Olson spent the weekend in Rockford, Il., at the home of his
sister, Mrs. Carol Burkholder. In their absence his mother, Mrs. Johanna Olson,
with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schoengarth of Neillsville, took care of things on the
farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Burrington of Thorp were dinner guests last Sunday of their
daughter, Mrs. Dewayne Parent.
Dinner guests Sunday in the Bernard Sieg home were Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Sieg of
Fairchild, Mrs. Jim Blom and children of Price and Mrs. Laura Dignin.
Mrs. Johanna Olson was a dinner and supper guest Sunday at the Allen Zimmerman
home in Fairchild.
Ronnie Burkhalter of Rockford, Il., spent the week here with home folks.
Mr. and Mrs. William Dignin and Charlene of Nova, Oh., drove here Thursday to
bring his mother, Mrs. Laura Dignin, home for a five weeks’ visit in their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Parent and Steve were guests Sunday of her sister, Mrs.
Ralph McIntyre, in Elk Mound.
Mrs. Bernard Sieg, Mrs. Lyle Newell and Mrs. Laura Dignin were in Black River
Falls Monday forenoon.
