Mahr, Shelby (Academic All-District - 2015)
Shelby Mahr, a native of Boyd, WI, and special education major at the University
of Wisconsin-Whitewater, earned Capital one Academic All-District 6 Cross
Country/Track and Field first team honors as selected by the College Sports
Information Directors of America, the organization announced Friday, may 22.
Shelby Mahr (Boyd, WI/Stanley-Boyd), a captain on the women’s team, has now been
named Academic All-District twice.
Mahr finished her degree in special education in May and maintained a GPA of
3.97. A two-time recipient of the prestigious WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete
Award, Mahr was tabbed All-Academic by the USTFCCCA three times. She was a third
team Academic All-American in 2014.
Mahr has been active as a volunteer with Reading with the Warhawks, Project
Linus and Best Buddies. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and the International
Honor Society in Education.
A nine-time All-American, Mahr also picked up seven all-conference honors, and
holds four school records in throwing events. She recently finished as national
runner-up in the discus throw with a school record result.
