Smith, Cecil (1921? – 08 JUN 1966)
Friends of Cecil Smith, 44, were shocked yesterday morning when they learned he
had been fatally stricken by a heart attack.
The attack came shortly after he had awaken and was still in bed at his home. He
called to his wife for help, saying he had a severe chest pain. Their eight year
old son, Jerome, ran to telephone the doctor, but by the time Dr. Phillips
arrived at the home, shortly after 8 a.m., he was dead.
He was apparently in good health and had worked a 10 hour day Tuesday driving
from Foremost Dairies, with whom he had been associated as a truck driver and
dispatcher out of the Owen terminal for the past 24 years.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning, June 11, from the
Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Hewetson officiating.
