Army Specialist/4 Lester D. Sinetts, who wife Carol lives in Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.), was awarded a letter of appreciation while serving in Qui Nhon, Vietnam,
April 27, 1966.
Specialist Sinetts received the award from the commander of the U.S. 27th
transportation battalion for his part in helping to move the 26th regiment of
the Republic of Korea Army to its present location outside Qui Nhon. Sinetts and
other members of the 444th transportation company, a unit of the 27th,
transported the regiment April 16.
Specialist Sinetts is a truck driver in the company. He entered the army in
November 1960 and arrived overseas on this tour of duty in August 1965.
The 24 year old soldier, son of Lester D. Sinetts, route 1, Holcombe, attended
Holcomb High School. His mother, Mrs. Arthur Ingles, lives at 127 S. Central
St., Marshfield.
