Mr. and Mrs. Nick C. Lehnen of Wauwatosa, former Medford and Owen residents,
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 18, 1966. About 75
relatives and friends attended the anniversary dinner that evening at Le
Carousel in Menomonee Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Lehnen, who retired in September of 1965 from the Woodland Hotel in
Owen, live at 2639 N. 84 St. in Wauwatosa. They managed the hotel from 1937 to
1965 and also were owners of the Ideal Café in Medford from 1927 to 1937. Both
are enjoying good health.
Marking the occasion was a special 8 a.m. anniversary Mass at Christ the Kind
Catholic Church. In the afternoon from 2 to 4 o'clock the couple were honored by
friends and family at a reception in the home of their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Platta, Wauwatosa.
The former Miss Barbara Kessler and Nick C. Lehnen were married on June 21,
1916. They are the parents of five children, one of whom is deceased. He was
Andrew, who died in 1944 while serving with the U.S. Army.
The four other children are, Edward of Owen; Herb of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs.
Albert J. (Lillian) Platta, Wauwatosa, and Miss Agnes Lehnen, also of Wauwatosa.
There are seven grandchildren.
All of the sons, daughters and grandchildren were present for the celebration.

Mauel, Owen; Miss Alice Mauel, Wausau; Mrs. Henry Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. John
Mayer, Mrs. Teckla Tlusty, Medford; Mrs. Russell Weaver, West Covina, Calif.;
Mrs. John Braun, Racine.
