Marine Private 1st Class Robert D. Lindau, son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Lindau
of rt. 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), is serving in Vietnam with "F" Company of
the Second Battalion, Fourth Marine Regiment of the Third Marine Division.
During the last five months the battalion has participated in eight major
operations, including Operation Jay, which netted more than 400 Viet Cong,
killed, wounded or captured.
His battalion's primary mission is to meet and capture or destroy the enemy by
weapons fire, maneuver, or shock action.
