Zawadzki, Joanne (15 APR 1916 – 14 AUG 1966)
Mrs. Walter Zawadzki, 59, rt. 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday of a lung
ailment in St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church
in rural Thorp. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.. A son, Rev.
Lawrence Zawadzki, Wausau, will officiate at the requiem mass.
Friends may call at the Thorp Funeral Home Thursday between the hours of 2 and
10 p.m.
The former Joan Dorothy Pogodzinski was born in Thorp (Clark Co.), April 15,
1916, and was married in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church on July 11, 1934, to
Walter Zawadzki, who survives her.
She was a member of St. Hedwig's parish and its Rosary Society, and had served
as chairman of the PTA school lunch committee of Owen-Withee schools.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Rev. Lawrence
Zawadzki, Wausau; Dr. Joseph Zawadzki, Skokie, Ill.; Lieut. David Zawadzki, with
the U.S. Coast Guard in Greenland; Gabriel Zawadzki, with the Peace Corps in
Costa Rica, and a daughter, Dorothy, an Alverno College student.
Other survivors are several brothers and sisters, including Bernard Pogodzinski
and Mrs. Alfred (Stella) Frank, both of Marshfield.
