On Friday, Feb. 9, Miss Czerwinski's Sophomore English Classes had the honor of
listening to Gary Bandor. Gary has just returned from active service in Vietnam.
During his stay, he was stationed six miles from the DMZ. The camp was set up on
a hill, with the soldiers living in tents and bunkers.
The people of Vietnam are indifferent towards Americans.
Gary continued to explain that the training given to the Americans is mainly
eight hours of self-confidence training, which is very ineffective. He said the
greatest need of training is in practical experience.
After his talk, the students were able to ask questions. Gary Bandor's
interesting and informative talk helped the students to learn a little more
about the war we are involved in, and perhaps, it brought them a little closer
to the thousands of American who are fighting for the United States in Vietnam.
