Loos, Steven M. (? - 20 November 1973)
Steven M. Loos, 19, of Rt. 1 Loyal, became the eighth victim of a traffic
accident on Clark County highways in 1973 when he succumbed to head injuries
Tuesday afternoon in a Marshfield hospital.
Loos was injured fatally about 7:55 p.m. Sunday when the car he was driving
overturned on County Trunk Y, two miles south of the junction with Highway 98 in
the Town of Sherman. He suffered massive injuries to the left side of his head.
According to the report of the County Traffic Officer Albert J. Perkins, Loos
was thrown from the car when it skidded out of control on the roadway. He was
found 36 feet from the front of the car.
The report gave the officer’s estimate that the car was traveling too fast. It
went off the right side of the pavement and traveled for a distance on the
shoulder and overturned. The car slid on its top in the roadway, then went into
the ditch on the opposite side of the road and came to rest on its wheels.
