Phasing out Taylor County Teachers College into a two-year branch campus of a
state university could transpire by 1968, it was revealed Friday at a meeting of
three county board committees with sate specialist.
The county college at Medford was recommended as a two year branch campus May 5
by the state sub-committee of coordinating committee on higher education. The
coordinating committee gave its approval the following day.
Meeting here with the county finance committee, teachers college board and
committee on higher education were Tom Moran, a member of the state coordinating
staff, and Jim Young of the academic facilities commission, both of Madison.
