Joyce, Caroline Lee (15 NOV 1903 – 22 FEB 1968)
Word has been received by area relatives of the death of Caroline Lee Joyce, in
Oakland, Calif., on Feb. 22nd, 1968.
She was born in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis., Nov. 15, 1903, the
daughter of John and Caroline (Erickson) Lee. She was a graduate of Stanley High
School in the year 1923 and taught in various country schools for several years.
On Aug. 30, 1930 she was united in marriage to Gerald Joyce. In the year 1940,
they moved to Oakland where they have since resided. Mr. Joyce passed away in
1964.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Dolores) Olsen and Mrs. Clint
(Geraldine) Scharf, both of California; three grandchildren, Janine, Gary, and
Doreen Scharf; four sisters, Mrs. Karen Schmidt, Duluth, Minn., Mrs. Alfred
Anderson, Tower, Minn., Mrs. Glen Freimund, Plymouth, Wis., and Mrs. Walter
Bratz, Thorp, Wis.; four brothers, Edward and John (her twin brother) of Ceres
Calif., Herbert of Covina, Calif., and Paul of Stanley, Wis.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 26th, with burial at the Holy Sepulcher
Cemetery in Hayward, Calif.
