Dahl, Erlin A. (11 JUN 1931 – 19 JUN 2015)

Erlin A. Dahl, 84, Granton, WI died unexpectedly on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.

Erlin was born on June 11, 1931 in the Town of York, Clark County, Wisconsin to Ferdinand and Frieda (Garbisch) Dahl. He attended Merryvale School thru the eighth grade. He began farming at the age of 14. He also worked road construction for a few years in Illinois and California before returning to Granton to resume farming until the time of his death. Erlin was very active in his community serving as Chairman for the Town of York, Supervisor for Clark County, Director of Clark County Farm Bureau, Member of Granton FFA Alumni, Member of Zion Lutheran Church and Church Council President along with being involved with many other organizations throughout his life. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards with the neighbors on Thursdays and shaking dice at Tommy's Hilltop.

On August 4, 1951 Erlin was united in marriage to Irene Keuer. They were married for 63 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who loved family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife, Irene, children; Judith (Eugene) Walter of Granton, Gary (Marjorie) Dahl of Granton, William (Sue) Dahl of Coloma, Nancy (Michael) Luchterhand of Loyal and Patricia (Douglas) Hahn of Spencer, grandchildren; James (Caroline) Walter, Mark (Kim) Walter, Robert (Joely) Walter, Timothy (Janell) Walter, Sandra (Walter) Piskow, Shana (Rick) Tischeafer, Lori (David) Brown, Bryan Dahl, Michelle (Scott) Schultz, Kurt (Jesse Rakovec)Dahl, Jason (Lori Baumann) Dahl, Craig (Heather) Dahl, Matt (Marie Greenway) Luchterhand and Chad Hahn, twenty-seven great grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Byrl (Sonja) Dahl of Chili and Arthur (Perry) Dahl of Drain, OR.

Erlin was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Daniel Walter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton, Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate. Providing music will be Caroline Helm, organist. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, with a 7:30 p.m. Prayer service, at the Gesche Funeral Home and Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Windfall Cemetery in Granton.

Casket bearers will be his grandsons.
