Fireman Apprentice, Richard I. Ehlert, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Ehlert
of rt. 2, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis. was graduated from the Basic Electricians Mate
School at the U.S. Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the ten-week course he learned the fundamentals of shipboard electrical
circuits, basic atomic theory, translator theory amplifiers and magnetic
amplifiers.
Aboard ship, the Navy electricians mate is responsible for the disassembly,
repair, adjustment and reassembly of all electrical equipment.
Before entering this school he attended a six-week basic electricity course at
Great Lakes.
