The Eau Claire Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an Honor Society in Education, chose
Miss Betty Tobola, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tobola of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.) and a junior at Eau Claire University, to be their delegate to the
Twenty-sixth biennial convention in Denver, Colorado, which was held March 6th
through March 10th. Miss Cynthia Philbrook, formerly a resident of Thorp and now
a Senior at Eau Claire University, was chosen to go also as an alternate
delegate.
Miss Tobola and Miss Philbrook were flown round trip by United Airline and
stayed at the Denver Hilton Hotel. They attended general sessions and group
discussions each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some of the highlights they enjoyed
were a tour of the Air Force Academy, a visit to the Garden of the Gods and a
trip to the Flying "W" Ranch, which included a chuck wagon dinner. A formal
banquet ended the convocation. The delegates will be giving a report on their
trip to the chapter at its regular March meeting.
