Grace, Eva (? – 18 MAR 1968)
Mrs. Warren G. Grace Sr., well known Marinette matron, who resided at Pine
Beach, died March 18th, 1968 at Marinette General Hospital, where she had been a
patient since the 12th of December.
The former Eva Soderberg was born in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and had been a
resident of Marinette since 1910. On June 26, 1919, she was married to Mr.
Grace, who died in February of 1950.
Mrs. Grace was a graduate of the former Marinette Business College. Prior to her
retirement, she had been employed for 10 years at Marinette County Teachers
College.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and was active in the choir and
Women's Society of Christian service of that congregation. She was a member of
Marinette Woman's Club, Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and
a former member of the of the 20th Century Club.
Survivors include three sons, Warren Jr. of Marinette, Roger of Bloomington,
Minn., and Alan of Holbrook, Ariz., and a nephew, Richard Soderberg of Madison,
who was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Grace.
Also surviving are a brother, Ted, Peshtigo; a sister, Mrs. Esther Stewart of
Thorp, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m., at First Methodist
Church. The Rev. Richard Noble officiated. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery.
