Burke, Dorothy E. (28 JUL 1899 – 2 APR 1968)
Funeral services for Dorothy E. Burke, 68, who passed away at Victory Memorial
Hospital, Stanley, on April 2nd, 1968, were held at St. Bernard's Catholic
Church, Thorp. Father Francis Brockman officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service on
Friday, April 5th. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Pallbearers were: George Burke, John Burke, Wm. J. Nolechek, Burke Piper, Jerry
Giese and A.F. Bishop.
Dorothy, a registered nurse, was born July 28, 1899, at Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis.
She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Rod Piper, Mrs. Robert Piper, both of
Thorp, Wis., Mrs. W.F. Nolechek, Holcombe and Mrs. Edward Nolan, also of Thorp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Burke, and one
brother, John Burke.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Anton
Papierniak, Arlington, Va.; Burke Piper, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs.
George Burke, Boyd; Mr. and Mrs. John Burke, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Giese, Eau
Claire, and Mrs. Gordon Thorson, Owen.
