Red Cross Volunteers scheduled a ‘songfest’ for entertainment last Wednesday
afternoon at Memorial Home. Mrs. Ellen Johnson led group singing and organ music
was provided by Mrs. Iris Musil. Jess Scott spoke on the subject to
Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis T. Zajac of Winter were weekend guests of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ted Zajac. Saturday evening they visited Mr. and Mrs. David Boock of
Black River Falls.
Tom Lukes, who graduated in August from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
with a major in biology, is now employed by the Nalco Chemical Company in
Northbrook, Il., as a biologist. Tom, as well as his sister and brother-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Thacher and two daughters of Cottage Grove, Mn, will be
Thanksgiving Day guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukes.
Mrs. Oscar Sternitzky and Mrs. Ronald Schiller and daughter, Lisa of Lynn and
Mrs. Leroy Binder of Marshfield visited Sunday with Mrs. Louis Wiesner.
Mr. and Mrs. William Simek, Jr., and sons, Douglas and Stewart, of St. Paul, Mn,
spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Simek, Sr. Sunday
guests at the Simek home for an early Thanksgiving dinner also included Mr. and
Mrs. James Simek and Mrs. Julia Wachholz. Jim Simek was among successful hunters
Saturday.
Mr. Elizabeth Crothers plans to spend Thanksgiving Day with her sister, Miss Ada
Quinnell, in Eau Claire. Their sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. John
O’Meara of Durand, will also be guests that day at Miss Quinnell’s home.
