Becker, Rosalie Mary (9 MAY 1920 – 22 JUN 2015)
Rosalie Mary Becker, age 95, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville passed away
on Monday, June 22, 2015 at House of The Dove in Marshfield with family gathered
around her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, June 29, 2015
at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Rev. Varkey Joseph will
officiate. Committal services will follow in parish cemetery. Family and friends
are invited to gather on Monday at the church in Neillsville from 10AM until
time of services. Rosalie's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Rosalie was born May 9, 1920, the daughter of John and Christina (Hauser)
Schmidt. She attended Pleasant View country school. Rosalie was united in
marriage to Clarence E. "Curly" Becker on October 18, 1941 at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Neillsville. The couple raised seven wonderful children.
Rosalie and Clarence celebrated 67 years of marriage. Sadly, Clarence passed
away on January 11, 2009. Along with being a dedicated wife and mother working
to raise her family, she was also employed at Nelson Filter of Neillsville until
her retirement at age 65.
Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, canning and baking, gardening and crocheting, playing cards
or marbles with family and friends. Rosalie enjoyed spending hours watching her
deer, birds and other wildlife.
Survivors include her five daughters: Beverly (Walter) Schenk of Avon Park, FL.;
Carol McManus of Lombard, IL; Dianne (Lewis) Gurney of Neillsville; Lynette
(Mark) Schoengarth of Neillsville and Mary Kay (Michael) Noehring of Lakeville,
MN; her two sons: Don (Lorna) Becker of Greenfield and Scott (special friend
Barb) Becker of Neillsville; her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Rosalie is further survived by one brother George (Mary Jane) Schmidt of
Janesville along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; seven
brothers and one son-in-law Kevin B. McManus.
In lieu of flowers her family is accepting memorials in Rosalie's name to House
of the Dove-Marshfield or for a charity to be determined later.
