Mr. and Mrs. Bill Grunseth of Sheldon were Sunday guests with her parents, the
Max Siemek family.
Friday afternoon Mrs. Theresa Stuttgen and Mrs. Jerry Stuttgen of Stanley were
guests at the Clarence Micke home.
Goerge Staroselec returned to Madison Thursday, where he is a student at the
State University, after spending a few days with his grandparents, the Mr. and
Mrs. B.L. Slota.
Mr. and Mrs. Casper Wilger of Rice Lake were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
O'Connell.
Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Anderson of Hannibal visited his
grandmother, Mrs. Frank Popple.
Mrs. Victoria Wilcenski and nephew James Boylan spent Easter with her daughter
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nick De Sandro, and also visited her children in
Waukesha.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weller of Eau Claire were Sunday afternoon and supper guests
of her mother, Mrs. Frank Popple.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schultz visited her mother, Mrs. Mabel Lee, at the Stanley
Nursing Home on Thursday. They also visited her brother, Edwin Lee and family.
Mrs. Emery Warren and Mrs. Kenneth Surber, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knapp visited at the
Floyd Brenner home at Lake Holcombe on Monday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Slota were business callers in Ladysmith Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Herman of Hannibal were Friday evening visitors at the Frank
Herman home.
Mrs. Victoria Wil censki, Mrs. Mary Kornesczuk and Mrs. Josephine Walogorski
spent last Friday in Eau Claire.
St. Ann's Catholic Society met with Mrs. Anna Brandt Sunday afternoon. A large
crowd attended.
Mrs. Virgil Knapp and children of Sheldon spent Sunday p.m. with Mrs. Wm. Knapp.
Donald Burtard, who is employed at 2M Co. at St. Paul, spent the weekend at his
home here.
Leslie Siemek of Eau Claire spent Friday evening with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Max Siemek.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Flock and family of Racine spent eh weekend at the Jerry
O'Connell home.
Mrs. Marjorie Staroselec and sons of Menomonee Falls returned to their home
Thursday after spending some time at their cottage at Lake Holcombe. They also
visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Slota.
Mrs. Emery Warren of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Kenneth Surber of Seattle,
Wash., accompanied Virgil and Bill Knapp when they returned home, the ladies are
Bill's sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Siemek and sons spend Saturday afternoon at the Joe Hargot home
in Lublin.
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Knapp of Sheldon entertained Monday evening at their home in
honor of Mrs. Warren and Mrs. Surber. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Knapp, Mr. and Mrs. E. Stange, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Knapp, Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Brenner, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knapp.
John Budney, 59, of Munster, Ind., a former resident of here, was fatally
injured in a car accident which occurred April 18th. He is survived by his wife
and 2 children. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 22nd at Munster,
Indiana. Mrs. Ann Budney and daughter Patty attended the funeral.
