Miss Judith Ann Popowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Popowski, Lublin (Taylor
Co., Wis.), became the bride of Lawrence Eugene Slowiak, Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), on Saturday, April 20th, 1968 at St. Stanislaus Church, Lublin, Wis. Rev.
Edward Czy performed the two p.m. marriage ceremony. Sister Anella of St.
Bernard's was the organist.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose an ivory A-line dress
with studded pearls. She wore a mantilla veil and train with lace appliques
studded with pearls. She carried an orchid surrounded by mums and stephanotis.
Mrs. Pat Paliga was matron of honor, with Miss Kathy Poer, Miss Jean Hendzel and
Miss Judy Slowiak as bridesmaids. They each wore dresses of cherry colored crepe
styled with panel over a sheath dress. The matron of honor carried a bouquet of
mums and stephanotis, while the bridesmaids carried mums sprayed to match their
dresses.
The groom was attended by Duane Badzinski as best man, and groomsmen were Robert
Popowski and Stanley Slowiak.
A dinner was held in the church besement and a dance in the evening at the Thorp
Legion Hall.
The bride a graduate of Gilman High School, is with H.M.H. Publishing Co.,
Chicago. The groom, a graduate of Thorp High School, is a ramp service man for
united Airlines at O'Hare Field.
After a short trip through Wisconsin they will make their home in Chicago.
