Chili (29 November 1973)

Among those attending the funeral services for Mrs. Archie Bequette Friday at Fairchild were Mrs. Lyle Doehr and Daryl, Mrs. Russell Lang and Tim and Mrs. Mabel Doehr of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Moh and Sally and Randy Rose of Granton. Mrs. Bequette succumbed to a heart attack at her home Monday evening.

Roland Sharratt and daughter, Barbara, visited with relatives in Chicago, Il., over Thanksgiving and also transacted business there. Enroute home, they stopped in Kendall to visit a former pastor, Fr. Duffy.

Chili Homemakers met Monday evening with Mrs. L. L. McCormick. Hazel Ott presented a project on apples.

Thanksgiving day guests at the Verne Mortvedt home were Mr. and Mrs. Eric Mortvedt and Miss Barbara Weber of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Mortvedt, Jr., of Aurora, Il., and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Strey.

Mrs. Anna Kauffman of Neillsville spent several days last week with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kauffman. All were Thanksgiving Day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Horn at Pittsville.

Thanksgiving Day guests of Mrs. Phelps Spry were Miss Janet Spry of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm of Granton and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Helm and family. Mrs. Spry and her daughter, Mrs. Walter Helm, spent last Sunday and Monday in Madison where they visited Mrs. Spry’s sisters, Mrs. Ethel Brown and Mrs. Fern Dresser.

Forestside Homemakers were to meet Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Ronald Kromanaker.

The UCGO group is to meet this (Thursday) evening at the Irwin Rusch home. Lesson leaders will be Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dix. Plans will be made for a caroling party and plans for a new group project will be discussed.

Mr and Mrs. Victor Seehafer were Thanksgiving Day guests at the Glenn Peterson, Sr., home in Marshfield.

Mrs. Eleanor Bymers was to entertain her knitting club Wednesday afternoon.

Guests at the Harold Montag home Thanksgiving day were Gerald Dankemyer and Lori of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lower of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lang and family or rural Marshfield, Mrs. Edna Spuhler of Marshfield, Gordon and Larry Schultz of Milwaukee and Mrs. Laura Beil and Arwin Beil, Mr. and Mrs. Elgene Montag and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Doehr and Daryl.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kauffman called Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Rohloff, where Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Falk of Oregon were visitors. The Falks are spending a week visiting with her sisters and brothers-in-law, the Rohloffs, the Ross Stevens and the Harold Schlinsogs. They planned to return home today (Thursday).
