Blazel, William (15 OCT 1890 – 31 MAY 1968)
William Blazel, 77, of Wis. Rapids died Friday morning at River Pines Sanatorium
at Stevens Point.
Mr. Blazel was born in Green Bay on Oct. 15, 1890. In 1913 he married Edna
Haselhuhn at Rice Lake. They resided in Rice Lake until 1920, then moved to
Abbotsford, and in 1926 they came to the Stanley area, where Mr. Blazel operated
a cheese factory until his retirement in 1947. They then moved to Hayward and in
1960 to Wis. Rapids.
Survivors include four sons, Gordon, Boyd; William Jr., Wis. Rapids, Robert and
Wallace, Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Heiser, Stanley and Mrs. Andrew
Schneider, Milwaukee; one brother, Alvin, Dorchester; three sisters, Mrs. Ann
Grosjean, Mellen; Mrs. Mary Anderson and Mrs. Leo Terrien of Duluth; 26
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Ann’s Catholic Church in
Stanley with Father Donald Berg officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
