Heler, Herman (Commits Suicide – Oct 1918)
Appleton – Herman Heler, alleged enemy alien registration evader, who was being
held in the police station awaiting the arrival of a United States deputy
marshal from Milwaukee, committed suicide in his cell by hanging himself with a
rope. Upon investigation of Heler’s effects at his room, nothing was found to
attach him with the German government.
