Rev. and Mrs. Thos. Caldwell of Reserve spent Saturday and Sunday here with Rev. Roberts.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hubing at Union, Mont., on Oct. 3. Mrs. Hubing was formerly Miss Helene Garfield.

W.L. Smith went to Cloquet, Minn., Monday evening as his mother, brother, and sister lived there and he as much worried as to their safety on account of the forest fire that swept that city. After he had gone, a telegram was received here from his mother stating that all were safe, but they lost everything in the fire.

Judge Schoengarth and A.L. Devos left yesterday for an auto trip to Milwaukee.

Paul Otto Schultz, aged 36 years, died at his home near Garbusch’s Corners of Spanish influenza and was buried yesterday.

Judge O’Neill’s name should have been added to the list of subscribers for the fatherless children of France.

District Attorney W.J. Rush went to Chippewa Falls yesterday to meet with Clark County Board of Supervisors committee which met there to investigate further the proposed asylum for this county.

Henry Seidelman met with an auto accident Tuesday near Thorp. His car went into the ditch, turned over and smashed it a trifle. Henry and Henry Bieneck escaped without injury.

Ed. Stelloh and family have moved to Johnson Creek where he has taken a very good position. Their many friends here sincerely hope that their change will be highly satisfactory to them for they were well liked here and their departure is greatly regretted.
