Thompson, Lt. Carl (Killed in Action – 31 AUG 1918)
Lieutenant Carl Thompson, a son of Ole Thompson of Curtiss and a member of the
226th U.S. Inf., was killed in action “somewhere in France” August 31st,
according to advices. Lieut. Thompson has taken part in several of the recent
drives and it was in one of these that he gave up his young life for the cause
of freedom. He enlisted at the officers training camp near Fort Sheridan last
fall and was home on a brief furlough last fall after he was transferred east
and sent to France.
