Ashman, Esther (Meter Reader – Oct 1918)
Appleton – Miss Esther Ashman of this city has joined in the ranks of Appleton’s
women who are taking the place of men called into service. She accepted a
position with the local gas company as meter reader. It is expected soon that
all the positions in meter reading will be filled by women. Miss Ashman is the
second meter reader to accept a position in Appleton.
