Shortville (31 Oct 1918)
George Fisher and Elmer Frantz have rented the R. Frantz place for the coming
year. Wm. Leits has moved to Neillsville.
Robert Kuhn and one of the children are both quite sick with influenza at this
writing. Dr. Monk is in attendance.
Herman Wagner is hauling hay to Neillsville.
Irvin Stevens, who is at Camp Randall, Madison, is sick in the hospital there
with Spanish influenza.
Hubert Carter, who was at Madison training camp, has recently been transferred
to Virginia.
Miss Mary Kosmoski has been spending an enforced vacation at home due to the flu
epidemic closing her school in Hewett.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cramer have moved to Neillsville. Miss Lulu Carter stays with
them and attends school there.
Mr. and Mrs. George Meyers, who lived on the Dudgeon farm this summer, have
returned to Illinois. The new owner is here now.
Word has been received from Mrs. McPherson and son, Milton, that they arrived
safely in Washington.
