East Weston (Panther Creek) (31 Oct 1918)
The Imig Bros., buying the old Hoseley farm, closes one of the biggest land
deals that has been made in these parts for some time. These people since coming
here a few years ago have certainly proven themselves not only mighty good
people, but successful farmers and dairymen. We regret very much that Ralph
Hoseley and wife, after they leave the old farm, intend to go west to live. They
are the kind of neighbors that make us feel there is a great vacancy when they
are gone.
The Luebke Bros. wound up a good falls threshing at Ranch 1 last Friday.
We missed George Rude very much when it came to loading those seven in one gunny
sack.
Willis Armitage tried to experiment on pancakes a few mornings ago and his wife
caught him at it just in time to save a nice dish of pumpkin sauce, which she
had all ready for pies. Willis says he will never try it again until he learns
all the rudiments in pastry cooking from the Wayward Kid.
