Kroll, John (8 SEP 1888 – 14 JUN 1968)
John Kroll, 79, passed away at River Pine Sanatorium, Stevens Point, Wis., of
old age complications on June 14th, 1968.
Mr. Kroll was born Sept. 6, 1888 in Bukawina Tatrzanska, Poland. He came to
America in 1913, working in the Pennsylvania coal field of Wester Virginia and
Ohio Steel Mills, upper Mich., and Wis. Woods. He came to Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.) in 1929 and worked for farmers in the community. After retiring he made
his home in the city at the Haflanger Hotel until a year ago, when he was
transferred to the River Pines Sanatorium, Stevens Point, as a patient. He was
united in marriage in 1911 in Poland, where his wife preceded him in death in
1962.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp on Tuesday, June
18, at ten a.m., with Rev. E. Masalewicz officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig's
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: William Tobola, Thomas Broda, Louis Kobylarczyk, Thomas
Polnaszek, John Koszak and Walter Szczech.
He is survived by one son, Stanislaw Krol in Bukowina Tatrzanska, Poland, and 2
grandchildren in Poland.
