Zubal, John (28 JUL 1879 – 27 JUN 1968)
John Zubal, 88, rt. 2, Stanley, died Thursday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital
in Chippewa Falls.
He was born in Austria on July 28, 1879, and came to the United States when he
was 16 years old. He settled in Scranton, Pa., and married Anna Housinica. They
moved to Chippewa County, town of Huron, 57 years ago, and lived there until
1959. They moved to Binghamton, N.Y., and in 1961 to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).
They returned to the town of Huron this year.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William, Stanley, and Mike, Madison; four
daughters, Mrs. Louis Demtrak and Mrs. Charles Olmstad, both of Binghamton,
N.Y.; Mrs. Jess Bandor, Thorp, and Mrs. Don Matson, Naperville, Ill.; 15
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Trinity Orthodox Church
in rural Thorp. Burial was in the church cemetery.
