Lato, Patricia (29 JUN 1968)
Miss Patricia Lato, daughter of Mrs. Bruno Lato and the late Bruno Lato, became
the bride of Richard G. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Nelson, Port
Washington, Wis., on Saturday, June 29th, 1968 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church,
Thorp. Father Francis Brockman performed the eleven a.m. double ring ceremony
and Nuptial Mass. St. Bernard's School Choir sang.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, John M. Lato of Menomonie,
Wis., chose a crescent waistline gown of chrysanthemums patterned Chantilly lace
with a scalloped mantle chapel train. Her flower headpiece held a veil of sheer
bridal illusion and she carried a bouquet of Talisman roses and carnations.
Miss Dorothy Lato was her sister's maid of honor, and bridesmaid was Janice
Lato, cousin of the bride. They wore floor length A-line gowns of Saki, accented
by a lace and ribbon trim on the empire waistline and Watteau back panel. The
short veils fell from a lace bow. They each carried baskets of daisies.
Robert Lato, brother of the bride, was best man, and groomsman was David Nelson,
brother of the groom. Ushers were Kenneth Nelson, brother of the groom, and
Phillip Lato, cousin of the bride.
A dinner for 85 guests was held at the Thorpedo Restaurant.
The bride, a graduate of Taylor County Teachers College, Medford, and WSU, Eau
Claire, is a teacher. The groom attended Port Washington High School and is
employed at Fort Motor Co., Kansas City, Mo.
After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, they will make their home in Kansas
City, Mo.
