Bonczkiewicz, Joseph Sr. (8 APR 1884 – 17 JUL 1968)
Joseph Bonczkiewicz Sr., 84, passed away of a heart attack on July 17th, 1968 at
Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Assumption Church, Lublin on July 20th.
Rev. Matthew Buba officiated at the ten a.m. service, with burial being made in
the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Ronal Bonczkiewicz, Bernard Szczesniak, William Dmytro, Frank
Collura, Richard Krueger and Klayton Micke.
Mr. Bonczkiewicz was born April 8, 1884 in Poland. He was united in marriage to
Josephine Bystrzycki Oct. 14, 1907 in Milwaukee. They lived in Milwaukee until
1919 and was blacksmith for Milwaukee railroad. They then moved to Lublin, where
he farmed and also was blacksmith for the John S. Owen Lumber Co. of Owen until
retirement in 1948.
Surviving are three sons, Joe of Lublin, Lawrence and Frank of Milwaukee; two
daughters, Regina Szczesniak of Withee, and Estelle of Owen.
