Imig, Belle Elvira (24 January 1919 - 10 July 2015)

Belle Elvira (Hansen) Mazola-Imig, 96, and 6 months of age, peacefully entered the gates of heaven Friday, July 10, 2015, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

Belle was born Jan. 24, 1919, to Christine and Harry Hansen of Catawba (Pierce County). She was the seventh of 13 children.

Belle had a lifelong career in education/teaching. It spanned 45 years, including 15 years as a principal. She held three master’s degrees, was dearly loved by her students and was highly respected by her colleagues.

She is survived by two sisters, Evelyn and Lila; sons, Albert and Edward; daughter, Beverly; two daughters-in-law, Donna and June; nine grandchildren: Tammy, Michael, Wendy, Michelle, Kristen, Bradley, Amber, Pattie and Peggy; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; four brothers; husbands: John, Sr. and Elton: and son, John, Jr.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with a reception to follow in the church hall.
