Vogel, Matthew (23 NOV 1887 – 21 JAN 1970)
Matthew Vogel, 82, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at 2:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1970 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, due to a
lingering illness.
Funeral services took place from the Roycraft Funeral Home at the Trinity
Lutheran Church, Loyal, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial took place at the Loyal
City Cemetery, with the Rev. Wm. Humlie officiating at the services.
Mr. Vogel was born on Nov. 23, 1887 at Hewitt. He moved to Loyal with his
parents as a young boy, and was married in October 1916, at Neillsville, to
Sadie Kurtzheim, and they resided in Loyal after his marriage. Mrs. Vogel did
carpenter work most of his life.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Peter (Velma) Brecht, Loyal,
Mrs. Herman (Mabel) Brecht, Loyal, Halbert, Milwaukee, Mrs. Shirley Brecht,
Owen, Mrs. George (Joan) Follsch, Chicago, and fifteen grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren, Surviving brothers and sisters include Louie, Greenwood and
Mrs. Kate Pope, Loyal.
He was preceded in death by fifteen brothers and sisters.
