Luther, Blanche (21 DEC 1895 – 23 JAN 1970)
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Nick and Sons Funeral Home
in Tomahawk for a former Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, Mrs. Emil Luther,
73, who died of an apparent heart attack Friday evening, Jan. 23, 1970 at her
home. Burial was made in Tomahawk.
The former Blanche Cornwall was born Dec. 21, 1895, in Neillsville, where she
also received her education. Her marriage to Emil Luther took place at Loyal
April 12, 1914.
The couple lived at Greenwood until 1949, when they moved to Tomahawk, where she
had been employed for many years as a nurses aid at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Mrs. Luther was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Wausau, and a
member of the Fellowship League of the Congregational Church at Tomahawk.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jerald Luther, Heafford Junction;
Douglas, Junction city, and Kenneth, Wausau; 10 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nina Cattanach, Owen; and a brother, Harold
Cornwall, Hemet, Calif.
