Gasek, Lorrayne E. (Clarke) (31 MAR 1921 - 23 JUL 2015)
Lorrayne E. Gasek, 94, of Colby, died Thursday, July 23 at Pine Ridge Assisted
Living in Colby where she had resided for the past five and one half years.
Per Lorrayne’s request, no services will be held. Private Cremainal inurnment
will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford with Father Philip Juza of
Holy Rosary Catholic Church officiating.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with
arrangements.
Lorrayne was born on March 31, 1921 in Superior to Melvin L. and Emma D.
(Miller) Clarke.
On March 17, 1940 in Medford she married Edward J. Gasek and he preceded her in
death. After her marriage, they lived in various cities in Wisconsin until they
settled in Medford in 2002.
Lorrayne enjoyed plastic canvas, crocheting, playing cards, cooking, baking,
crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. She is a past
member of Perkinstown Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her children, Marcia (Mark) Krueger of Tomahawk and Kathleen
M. Pernsteiner of Medford; brother, Lowell (Betty) Clarke of Wisconsin/Florida;
son-in-law, Jerry Sekey of Colman; brother-in-law: Frank (Audrey) Gasek of
Medford; sister-in-law Lorraine Clarke of Medford; 10 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter,
Victoria Sekey; son-in-law: Sylvester “Sy” Pernsteiner; and brothers and
sisters, Robert (Mae) Clarke, Alvin (Rosemary) Clarke, Harvey Clarke, Joy
Clarke, Doris Clarke and Lois (Bill) Baars.
Memorials can be made in Lorrayne’s name to Ministry Home Care Hospice.
