Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Gaulke, Greg and Glenn, returned Thursday from a 17 day
vacation. Their trip took them to Manhattan, Kan., for a visit with friends,
then to Denver, Colo., into New Mexico, sightseeing at Grand Canyon, on to
Disneyland in California, and the Redwood Forest, on into Utah and points east
enroute home.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weix, Rose Ann, Thomas and Sharon, were overnight guests
Saturday at the home of their daughter and then home of their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Burich and son, Milwaukee. On Sunday they drove to
Highland Park, Ill., to leave Sharon for her summer employment as mother's
helper.
Rev. and Mrs. Harold Woodworth and family, Campbellsport, Ky., are visiting for
several days with his mother, Mrs. Nettie Woodworth, Colby, and numerous friends
in the vicinity.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Borchert and family, Menomonee Falls, spent the weekend at the
parental Carl Borchert home.
Mrs. George Schwantes, Spencer, and Mrs. Verne Melvin, Hinsdale, Ill., were
Friday afternoon visitors at the home of Mrs. Ann Rienow.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Schramm of Glencoe, Ill., returned home Wednesday, after
spending a week with Mrs. Neva Harry. During their stay, they visited other
relatives and friends, and also attended the funeral of Mrs. Ann Beyerl.
Mrs. Sylvia Anderson and Randy of Chicago, and Miss Lois Jensen of Nashville,
Tenn. Came Friday, June 21, and stayed until the following Monday with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen, fourt 1, Colby. Miss Jensen flew back to
Nashville from O'Hare field.
Marvin Jensen, who is attending the summer session at Wis. State University,
Stevens Point, accompanied by his fiancé, Miss Alyce Jacobs, who was visiting
friends at Wisconsin Rapids, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Chris Jensen. On Sunday morning they went to Chicago to the home of his
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Anderson. Miss Jacobs left from
there by plane for her home at Palm Spring, Fla.
Mrs. W.H. Runzheimer, Susan and Mark, visited with Rev. Alvin Kirchhoefer last
Wednesday in observance of his 88th birthday. Rev. Kirchhoefer served as pastor
of Zion Lutheran Church here during the 1920's, and now resides near Wis.
Rapids.
