Ouimette, Maryette (13 SEP 1879 – 5 JUL 1968)
Mrs. Will Ouimette died at Memorial Hospital, Park Falls, July 5, 1968, at the
age of 89.
Mrs. Ouimette, the former Maryette Merwin, was born on the Merwin homestead in
the town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) Sept. 13, 1879. Her marriage to Will
Ouimette took place July 29, 1905. In 1906 they went to Park Falls and lived on
land homesteaded by Mr. Ouimette about 1901. From 1915 to 1919 they farmed in
the Abbotsford area. Mr. Ouimette died Sept. 14, 1965.
She is survived by three brothers, Ben and Howard Merwin of Abbotsford, and
Arthur Merwin of Wausau, and two sisters, Mrs. A.J. (Ina) Hennlich of Curtiss,
and Mrs. L.F. (Rosalie) Loucks of Abbotsford.
Besides her husband, three brothers preceded her in death.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church,
Park Falls, and burial was made in Nola Cemetery.
Among the relatives from this vicinity who attended the funeral were Ben Merwin,
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Merwin, Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Loucks, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Merwin
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loucks and family, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs.
Llewellyn Loucks and family, Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Remmel of Kewaskum, and
Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards of Stetsonville.
