Plautz, John J. (5 August 1903 - 6 December 1973)
John J. Plautz, 70, of Willard, died at 5 p.m. Thursday of an apparent heart
attack in the Town of Butler, while shoveling snow.
Mr. Plautz, son of the late Stephen and Mary (Podrovitz) Plautz, was born August
5, 1903 in Calumet, Mi. At an early age he came to Willard with his parents. He
received his education in the Willard schools. He spent most of his live in the
area.
He was married to Catherine Podrovitz December 8, 1930, in Waukegan, Il., and
had resided in this area ever since. Mr. Plautz was president of the Plautz
Brothers Construction Company.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Jeanette) Lange of Two Rivers; a
grandchild; six sisters: Mrs. Raymond (Angeline) Levesque of Orlando, Fla., Mrs.
Leslie (Mary) Burmeister, Mrs. Frank (Ann) Swigel and Mrs. Sophia Matkovich, all
of Milwaukee, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Albright of Wausau, and Mrs. Frank (Rose) Pakiz
of Greenwood; four brothers: Stephen and Joseph of Willard, George of Greenwood,
and Emil Plautz of Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Michael.
Visitations at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood began Sunday afternoon until 7
p.m., when the body was taken to the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard for
a wake mass at 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the
Holy Family Church. The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated. Burial was made in the
Holy Family Cemetery.
