Baumann, Mr. and Mrs. William A. (Recuperating -1973)
The Rev. and Mrs. William A. Baumann of McHenry, Il., who were seriously injured
in a two-car collision October 14, were released from Woodstock Memorial
hospital November 25 and are continuing their recovery at home. The Baumann’s
were enroute to church services in nearby Harvard when the accident occurred.
Rev. Baumann is a former pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Church in Neillsville.
Both sustained multiple fractures and lacerations and Rev. Baumann, who spent
two days in the intensive care ward, also suffered a brain concussion and
punctured lungs. Months of recuperation still lie ahead for the couple.
Earlier in the year, the Baumann’s left the United States for a six-week
vacation, crossing to Europe on the S.S. France and returning October 4 by air.
In Germany, they were guests of mrs. Baumann’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. H. Kruger, at their home in Luneburg. From there, they traveled by
boat, auto and train to visit various parts of West Germany. Mrs. Baumann is a
native of Germany.
